Neixer (Born): a beautiful and thoughtful look on childbirth

Neixer, Valencian verb that means Being born is a beautiful and thoughtful look at childbirth. It is a documentary directed by Ana Victoria Pérez, a Cuban filmmaker based in Valencia, and of course mother, which makes us see childbirth beyond what is usually seen with the naked eye.

It focuses on what it is, a physiological process, a transcendental and powerful experience for the woman and the baby. We had not yet presented this precious work, and we cannot stop doing it.

What is childbirth, how does the woman live it, both from a physiological and emotional point of view, but also scientific arguments, updated information on the parishes in Spain and the vision of gynecologists, midwives, pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, anthropologists, doulas, fathers and mothers.

We can find valuable contributions such as those of José María Paricio, pediatrician, member of the AEP Lactation Committee and promoter of the Initiative for the Humanization of Birth and Lactation Assistance (IHAN), Ibone Olza, child and perinatal psychiatrist, Alicia Fontanillo, obstetrician, gynecologist and member of Educer, to name some of the professionals involved in Neixer.

The documentary, which at the moment we can see the trailer, has premiered in May within the World Week of respected childbirth 2013. Apparently it has obtained the funding requested in a crowdfunding process (or microfinance), so we hope to be able to Watch it soon on television and in the theaters.

If you have the opportunity, I advise you to see all the women and men who are going to be parents because it is a different approach from what happens in the birth of a child, from what it means, treated with rigor but at the same time with sensitivity, Making a beautiful and thoughtful look about childbirth.
