We learn to eat healthy with the Scolarest educational project: eat, learn, live

Scolarest has organized the showcooking Easy and healthy cooking to succeed with children in Madrid where we have cooked and participated with Gemma Mengual. With the help of the Scolarest chef Miguel Bonilla and of the nutritionist Beatriz de DiegoIn addition to Gemma, we have known many easy and healthy recipes for our children. Below I have included some images of the result of our work in the showcooking that we perform in the magnificent facilities of the Cooking school Kitchen Club

The goal was to meet and participate in the Scolarest initiative to make a Easy and healthy cooking to succeed with children in which fathers and mothers with children could respond to the challenges of the pace of life we lead. In the showcooking we work, together with other press partners, with the Scolarest chef who helped us to elaborate three sample recipes. The Olympic synchronized swimming medalist Gemma Mengual also collaborated in this process, which impresses with her sports history, and was very comfortable with the chef's instructions and recommendations. In addition, during the demonstration, Beatriz de Diego, responsible for the Scolarest Dietetics and Nutrition Service, gave us nutrition clues for the little ones.

The recipes we make, and I leave the sample photos are:

Zucchini, carrot, mint and pumpkin seeds salad. The design is its own and it was about making a face-shaped dish in which the ingredients had their role with hair, eyes, mouth and even teeth.

Lentil Burger (main dish)

Given fresh fruit and cheese rubik A dessert proposal that caused a sensation!

gem took the opportunity to explain that for her the feeding your children is one of your priorities although it is not always easy to get them to eat everything. He commented that "In the workshop I have learned ideas that I will apply at home. It is not about masking food but about putting a little imagination on simple dishes to make them more attractive." And Gemma knows very well the importance of feeding on a balanced way of leading an active life as the basis of good health. He also commented that "I try to transmit these values to my children. Eating well is the best way to have energy to succeed."

He showcooking be part of the project Eat, Learn, Live, an initiative of the Eurest school division, Scolarest, which aims to teach good eating habits to children and from which Gemma Mengual is an ambassador. Gemma knows and shares the values and commitments of the program since, during the 15 years he spent at the High Performance Center (CAR) in Sant Cugat, he fed with Scolarest.

Scolarest explained that his project works the food education on two levels: at school canteen, though also at home with the development of a mini recipe book with ideas and practical proposals so that fathers and mothers can transmit to their children good habits at mealtime.

The school stage is the perfect age to positively influence children's habits. “School menus are very important because at the time of eating the children must eat 35% of the necessary nutrients for the whole day. However, only one of the five recommended daily meals is made at school. So this education must also move home, ”he explains Beatriz de Diego, responsible for the Nutrition and Dietetics Service of Scolarest.

And this is the image I took in the creation process from the kitchen club table In full work very outstanding and attentive to the chef's explanations:

We remember that Scolarest It serves the school canteens of more than 1,200 centers offering 30 million meals a year which, as explained to us, is like feed the Santiago Bernabéu attendees twice a day full.

We thank Scolarest for the invitation, it was very fun to know practical, nutritious, simple and very healthy recipes. We also congratulate you on the initiative because it has a long history and we need parents complement the feeding of the little ones the rest of the day and on weekends. And finally thank Kitchen club its extraordinary facilities that are a pleasure to spend a very pleasant time and learn a lot with that spacious kitchen, full of light and utensils to develop creativity.
