May 17, 2013 is Internet Day (#DiadeInternet)

This year the World Information Society Day on May 17. This is the Internet day promoted by the Internet Users Association (A.U.I.), a non-profit organization that was established in Madrid on a national level on July 5, 1995 and began celebrating this day in 2005.

And if you are in Madrid on On May 14, you should not miss the #diadeinternet Presentation Party which will be held in the Plaza de Olavide from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In the event, which we have already attended other years, and in which there will be live music, spaces will be enabled to explain what is the present and the future of the Internet, we want to know how we use the Internet, what we would change and can also be won prizes and gifts in the draws to be held.

There is also programmed many activities with schools so that children, from small, participate and understand the opportunities offered by the Internet. And it is essential to make a good dissemination of the knowledge and possibilities that the Internet allows, so the work carried out and promoted by the Internet Users Association is very useful and important for everyone.

I recommend taking a look at the website of Internet Day because in many cities in Spain there will be events and calls in which children can participate. There are also raffles through social networks and to participate you have to be attentive to the mobile and the #diadeinternet tag and also to the Twitter account of the Internet day.

The Internet day is driven by sponsors Google, Telefónica, PayPal, eBay, Phoenix Direct, Open Bank and HP as can be seen on the poster chosen by the Internet Users Association for 2013.
