Valencia will finance medications for disabled babies

We already know that the expenses of the first months of a baby can be quite high, and that a good part of them correspond to medicines.

That is why I found it an exemplary initiative of the Valencian government that finance the pharmaceutical expenses of the children of women with disabilities or risk of social exclusion until they reach 18 months of age.

It is estimated that the pharmaceutical cost of a baby during its first two years is 253 euros. The highest percentage of this sum goes to medicines to treat respiratory problems, followed by spending on antibiotics and then analgesics and antipyretics such as paracetamol, a classic in every medicine cabinet.

A good part is also destined to buy dietary products for the treatment of allergies or intolerances such as cow's milk or lactose protein, which are quite common today among children under two years of age. In addition, parents spend on anti-inflammatories and products to treat dermatological or ophthalmological conditions.

With the intention of giving a hand to those who need it most, all these expenses would be borne by the Valencian government in the case of babies whose mothers suffer from a disability or are at risk of social exclusion.
