Disney characters encourage children to discover the magic of reading through an exciting spot

With the purpose of boost reading among children, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Disney company have signed an agreement to promote an image of the most modern, inclusive and attractive reading among the little ones.

For this campaign, included in the Ministry's Reading Promotion Plan, the animation factory has produced a 20-second spot starring various Disney characters, which appear with a book in your hands and under the motto: "The books are full of exciting stories. Discover the magic of reading too".

Disney and the books

The Disney factory has always had a great relationship with literature, both for the adaptation of several classic stories to the screen, and for the special relationship that some of its characters have with books.

Therefore, the company has produced a 20-second spot starring well-known and admired characters from Disney movies and series, such as "Up", "Monsters SA", "The Little Mermaid", "Big Hero 6", "Beauty and the Beast "," Tangled "," Ratatouille "," The Descendants "or" The Incredibles ".

They all appear with a book in their hands, demonstrating to the little ones that through stories, and imagination, you can live exciting stories.

“Books have always played a fundamental role in Disney stories, as a source of inspiration and even as protagonists, such as in Beauty and the Beast. We wanted to make available to the Ministry of Culture our emblematic characters so that they are the ones who transmit the magic of reading in an original and fun way to children and their families ”- said Simon Amselem, CEO of The Walt Disney Company for Spain and Portugal.

The spot will be broadcast during the months of April and May on all Disney channels, and on the social networks of Disney and the Ministry.

Promote the reading habit among children

This agreement with Disney is part of the 2017-2020 Reading Promotion Plan campaign carried out by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and that since it began last year, has included numerous activities, resources and workshops for encourage reading among the population in general, and among the smallest in particular.

"Whoever looks at books in his first years of life, who develops a taste for reading during his childhood and youth, will hardly forget this hobby in his adult life" - said the Secretary of State for Culture, Fernando Benzo.

And it is that stimulating love for reading from an early age is an excellent option with multiple benefits for children. In addition, they will learn to have fun creatively and blow their imagination.

If the child still does not know how to read, choose a story according to his age together and read it aloud. Get involved in the story, ask questions about the characters that appear in the story and create, with your intonation, moments of suspense or surprise, are just some of the things you can do to encourage reading in your children.
