The Civil Guard inaugurates its fourth lactation room and is at Madrid Airport

The need to make parenting compatible does not understand occupations or jobs. Even women who are part of the state security forces and return to their post, after their maternity leave, need a space such as a nursing room, for example.

The Civil Guard, thanks to an agreement with the Philips company, has opened a new nursing room for its agents these days, the fourth now, this time at Adolfo Suarez-Madrid Barajas Airport.

The Civil Guard is the first public institution which is interested in the platform launched by the Philips company called "Breastfeeding Friendly Companies" in 2013, through which it installs a nursing room inside the offices of the companies with which it develops its collaboration. Obviously, Philips' own offices also have a nursing room with the same conditions for the employees who need it.

Not only a space that can be used by all current agents who are nursing mothers, but also future women who currently work in the dependencies that the Civil Guard He has in T4 and think of being mothers soon.

A suitable space for the extraction of milk, with comfort and safety that in addition, is adequately equipped with everything that is necessary for this process.

Thanks to this agreement there are already four nursing rooms that the Civil Guard has made available to its staff, one in Santurce, another in Santander and a third in terminal 2 of the same Madrid airport that now opens this fourth room.

With these rooms, the institution takes a step in favor of removing the barriers that many of its workers still have today, to achieve Maintain breastfeeding for the minimum of six months recommended by the World Health Organization when they have to return to their job.
