The Circa show at the Circo Price Theater in Madrid opened during Holy Week 2012

One of the options to be entertaining in Holy Week 2012, also with the kids, is to attend the Circus Price to see the show of Circus. It is a acrobatic proposal in which seven artists work the physical capacity of the human body for 80 intense minutes. This is a show in which four boys and three girls squander strength, balance, skill and play with the stage, completely empty, in which they perform precisely.

The performance seems to show a group of creatures who discover their abilities for dance, contortion and balance and how they develop it during the play until in the end, as if it had been a dream, they return to their original state.

During the performance I went to, I saw several children who had fun with the performance of the seven artists. They enjoyed their beauty and physical strength as well as their jumps, stunts, throws and the handling of the devices that usually appear in this type of shows such as the rope, the trapeze and the hoop.

Circa will be at the Circo Price Theater in Madrid until April 15, from Tuesday to Saturday, at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m.

Circa come from Australia where the crazy and funny Circus Oz also comes from. Circa is not as spectacular or entertaining as Circus Oz, where live music played and even participated in the show, although there are moments full of beauty. It is very enjoyable when artists fill the stage with their jumps, stunts, synchronisms, releases in joint performances that leave you with your mouth open.

Perhaps the children, although I also find it difficult to understand, are surprised when they see one of the numbers, such as the one shown in the image, in which one of the acrobats walks, with shoes and sharp heels, literally on the another artist while both perform a number full of physical power and balance.

He show is very physical and personal because it's the artists who fill the scene during the 80 minutes. There is no live music although the artists use a powerful soundtrack during their performance. The use of the stage is beautiful playing with the lights, mostly white and pointing to the movements. A background also appears in which the shadows of the projected artists seem to also defy the laws of gravity.

The seven artists that make up Circa are: Valerie Doucet, Casey Douglas, Darcy Grant, Scott Grove, Emma McGoven, Kathryn O'Keeffe, Lewis West. All barbaric and totally focused on their performance. The artistic director is Yaron Lifschitz.

The Circus Price Theater offers discounts of 20% for children under 14 years and over 65 years. In addition, children under 4 who do not occupy a seat because they sit with the adult enter for free.
