The bathroom: a sensory and emotional experience

Baby bathing is one of the first pleasures that parents and moms can experience with our child. It is a moment of bodily communication and maximum attention in a period in which the habitual thing is that they are sleepy or totally asleep.

It is already exciting, in these first days, the preparation of everything you will need. Achieve a pleasant atmosphere in terms of light and temperature, find a bathtub or a bathroom adaptation that is comfortable for both you and the baby, arrange the towel nearby so that it does not go cold when leaving ...

It may be the first action in which we assume our responsibility as parents, since when we bathe the child the day after arriving from the hospital, it still seems false to us that we are not going to harm him or bother him. It still has the belly button clamp and even drying the skin folds seems like a watchmaker's job.

In this situation we begin to assume our active role and feel proud to be able to assist you. Our confidence grows and prepares us to acquire new objectives.

As for the baby, it has been within a week of being in a superprotected environment at the sensory level (light, noise, temperature, familiar sounds, flotation) to another completely different and much more intense environment. With this premise, we must consider the bathroom as a slow and smooth time in which we can enjoy each gesture with tenderness and in which almost the least is the cleanliness and the priority the experience.

We will have managed to make this hygienic activity a rich sensory experience and an intimate and positive emotional relationship.
